Worth the extra couple dollars for these amazing Pizzas. I ordered the medium Tropical Hawaiian 16 and medium Deluxe (1 substitution) 19. The pizza quality is way better than the low end pizza chains and still beats the high end pizza chains. The dough was thin and crust crispy. The sauce had a good tomato flavor and definitely didn't skimp on the cheese like the lower end pizza chains. The toppings were fresh and better quality. Great overall pizza and worth the extra money. Service was quick and friendly. They allowed me to replace a topping on their specialty pizza. I think they could use a website but I found their menu eventually on Facebook.
Sesame Seeds on the Crust & pesto sauce topped with Cilantro and fresh crushed Green chillies with Pineapple, mushrooms, onions and lots of cheese from one of the best pizza store in Nanaimo. Had got it customized just the way you want it!!! enjoyed every bite of the pizza which was served by a great team. Their spicy Avocado Sauce should be patented it is simply a must have, just the best dip ever!!! Thank you guys, keep up the great work...

We don't normally eat the crust of pizza, but if it's a Departure Bay Pizza, no crumb is left behind. You can really tasted the difference of fresh ingredients, and they even offer an option of "surrey style" to any pizza. ( ask them about it) We love ordering here, and always highly recommend to friends and family. We also ordered for a birthday party, and the guest were constantly asking " where did you get this pizza it's amazing. " Don't just take my word for it, order yourself, you will not be disappointed!
I've heard good things about this place for a while and finally made my way there last week to try one of their slices. Loved it and today I went back to get a whole pizza! Crispy, tasty crust and a good amount of cheese and toppings. I really like the sauce, too. Very friendly staff both times. Good selection of toppings available, they have some pick-up deals advertised in the store. Prices are great for the quality, IMO. Incredibly easy to get to by bus, as well! The #1, #20, and #40 stop right beside the place and even more buses stop a block away at Country Club Mall.
We came to Nanaimo from Vancouver for two days and ended up visiting this pizza place twice—it’s that good! We tried the Deluxe, Hawaiian and the Tandoori Chicken pizzas, and all were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend it if you're in town!
Always amazing pizza, has been our family favorite for years! Being a pizza shop owner myself I know how much work it is to make a quality pizza every single time, and the crew at Departure Bay always delivers!! (Also I tell everyone this, add garlic, they put it under the cheese in the sauce and it’s just unreal!)
